Te Rimutahi Planting Schedule

One of the frequently asked questions about Te Rimutahi is about planting. So, below is some information.

This schedule was designed by Landscape Architect Alexander Luiten BFA (Hons), BLA (Hons) of Landscape and Ecology for LandLAB.

Landscape and Ecology is a design-focused practice led by Alex that develops and creates long-term, resilient landscape responses that are adaptive to our changing climate. Landscape and Ecology takes a sensitive approach to the varying ecologies across Aotearoa. Through site-specific research, they capture the landscape’s unique narrative across various scales.

Landscape and Ecology takes projects from the initial concept stage right through to design and management, working alongside trusted partners and collaborators

Te Rimutahi planting schedule;

Robust & Low Maintenance: The planting palette prioritizes long-term resilience, adaptability to changing climates, and low maintenance, featuring plants suited to an urban civic environment.

Layered Design: The gardens feature textured, layered, and terraced plantings that represent the nearby Maungawhau/Mount Eden.

Species Diversity: In addition to native species, the design includes bands of brightly colored, varied-height plantings that reflect the diversity of the community.

Bravo!
