Te Rimutahi, the new civic space on Ponsonby Road, was formally opened on Saturday, 17 May 2025. After a foggy start, the weather cleared to a beautiful, sunny day, welcoming everyone to celebrate the opening. Te Rimutahi was alive with people and the laughter of children. Since the opening, the same has been true, with everyone enjoying the new space. The Community-Led Design Group is delighted not only with the reception but also the activity and interest already evident at Te Rimutahi. And once the Council’s booking system has been activated, this will only increase. https://www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/parks-recreation/community-spaces/te-rimutahi/Pages/default.aspx

And a few more images from the opening…

Te Rimutahi is now a firm part of our urban landscape and a vital part of our community. It has been well worth the long journey to realisation. BRAVO!
